I agree with the new character that capitalism isn’t necessarily evil. Exploitation and ecocide didn’t exist the way they do today because back then, we didn’t have much civilization.
When they actually have ways to fix the system, that’s great. You can’t demand for change and hope that the system grants you your wish. Protesting is great to raise support, but it doesn’t work to create change.
If the 99% aren’t happy with the country, then they should create a mass exodus or boycott. Without power of the people, the system will collapse. Then the people can reclaim the power they want.
Capitalism may create unemployment, but it doesn’t seem like there’s an economic system where you can’t be unemployed. Of course, you could always revert to nomadic living.
I’m not sure if the idea of a ‘true economy’ is actually that valid. Sure, selling oil and guns can be valuable, but do you really need drugs?
