I was thinking the exact same thing. Glad someone else noticed it, too!

I am surprised at the negative attitude towards homeschooling. Most of the homeschoolers I knew growing up were as Schrodinger’s Dog described (and I knew a lot, being homeschooled myself, and- can you believe it- socialized with many other children my age?) Many homeschoolers have a great work ethic because their learning at some point usually becomes virtually independent. I have witnessed the products of public school, and at least in mathematics they are becoming steadily more unsuited for college level material, lacking basic math skills. There are of course bright, hard-working, and enthusiastic individuals among these as well, but they are the exception to the norm and the truth is that many students fail entrance-level math classes (at least at the university where I taught.)

Okay, I admit “Brad-hate” is probably too strong of a word.

I got the impression that Brad is being responsible. A wedding is a big deal and he realizes that there are details that have to be thought through and taken care of. He is also discussing the details with Toni and not leaving her out or going over her head. He is only being insensitive in that he doesn’t realize she is having a really hard time, but not everyone notices immediately when someone is struggling. I don’t blame Toni, either. Her brother saddles her with extra responsibilities that should not be hers, and the stress of wedding planning is getting to her. Regardless, I don’t understand all this Brad-hate.

All the same, she has a huge boost of confidence now, which definitely shows. :)

Pretty sure the joke is that each one of them thinks the hairstyle that looks closest to the hairstyle that they currently have looks the best (i.e., #3 looks like the hairdresser’s hair, #4 looks like Luann’s hair, and #6 looks like Mom’s hair.)

In defense of Luann, it is a hard thing to have to keep hoping and waiting to spend time with a boyfriend. Even though you want him to focus on his life and you don’t want to get in his way, there is still that pain of a dashed hope every time he has to put something else ahead of time together.

Gosh, Gunther — “sup” is a word! Where do you think the word “supper” comes from?

In defense of “The Only One Sane Here”, he did say all the girls he knew, not all girls. There’s nothing sexist about it. He’s just talking from his experience.

As much as I dislike it when people write spoilers in the comments, I realize that there is the option of just reading the strip and skipping the comments entirely.

Considering that today’s strip was written about 10 years ago, it isn’t a totally offensive thing for people to write spoilers. (Though yeah, it is very annoying.)
