It’s two jokes. The first is the aforementioned Harry Potter reference. The second is Thor’s hammer. Only those who are worthy can lift Thor’s hammer. The Wizard qualifies because he’s been separating his recycling.

It’s just like Flintheart to raise a little Kane.

The clue is the open box of fruitcake.

Sigh.Beep. Beep beep boop. Beep boop boop boop beep beep boopWait.Wait.Wait.

“Finally: I wondered if anyone was going to – Never mind who this is and how I got this number. Listen: You’ve got any more of those cobalt – I said never mind who this is. I was going to tell you where there was a mutant colony, but if you’re not – Oh, you are. Get ready to write down the latitude and the longitude.”

“Why? Because it’s all gone gray goo. Just all gray goo.”

Comics can’t be all things to all people. I used to enjoy “Endtown.” I know many still do. But it’s all just feels like gray goo now. I don’t care for gray goo myself. For those who still like “Endtown,” may you continue to do so, and may “Endtown” continue for years to come. As for me, I think I’ll look for another web comic, one that I might actually enjoy.

    You all have fun.

The rats may be literally fed up with people. Why would 50 lobotomized people meet their criteria for a viable colony? Is 50 all they need for livestock?

I’m going to make this just as simple as it is: The moment any group threatens violence against those who dare not to vote the way they think is proper, they take their place with those who did- and do – likewise. I don’t give a fig under who’s banner they march or what they might believe.

Here’s something else that’s just as simple as simple can be: Regardless of cause, you’ll find those who’ll use it for their own ends. This is a point of history, and takes us squarely back to this comic. So the thing to always ask is “Who does this benefit?” The answer to that will take you to the most surprising places.

Hmm . . . remember that mutants have a healing factor. Flask didn’t regrow her tail, but what if Jolene regrows her eye? A good thing? Not necessarily. Consider that we know at least one of the missing was taken alive. If they’re headed for the table, why do that? There would be little difference in carrying the unconscious over carrying the dead. But what if someone’s discovered a way to enhance the healing factor? Say, despite what happened to Flask, regrowing limbs. And what if the missing are being held for periodic harvest?

I hope so. Donkeys typically do not like coyotes or dogs and will go after them if given a chance. Some local farmers started putting donkeys in with cattle to protect them from coyotes. Do not know if this carries over to wolves, but if a donkey, Heather’s behavior would be in-line with her mutation.
