A cartoon kitty is making me choke up. Poor little tough guy… Wonder if he’ll change his attitude? Nah … He’s Chesney… and I’ll bet he’s had a hard life… Sweet Annie to the rescue.
Often wonder why some people take time out of their day to read comics. They then carp, pick, whine, and post unfailingly snarky comments about the characters and story lines. Being snotty is, of course, their right but, if you dislike a strip so much, why bother reading it??
Just FYI, for those who are wondering: There are huge evergreens, dense forests (with much larger trees than in the west, as it is a moist climate) and mountains (not Rocky-size) in New England. I grew up there. This scenery does not look out of place; much of New England is small-town and rural. I now live in the mountain west, so I know the difference in landscape. I agree with those who find this strip touching today! :-)
Appreciate that Trudeau keeps it real in a phony world … (or, at least, country…) Thanks, Garry. The Denver Post dropped this comic a while back. (but kept some lame, right-wing dreck called “Mallard Fillmore” which seems incapable of wit.)
