1) Aren’t there instances in the Bible of God being angry, while anger is a sin?
2) If God loves us so much, why do we suffer on this earth with sorrow, disease, death, etc.?
3) If we are supposed to treat our bodies like temples, why do some super-religious families spank their children?
4) I’m no historian, but I remember reading that in the Middle Ages the Catholic Church didn’t approve of the bathhouses, so people went dirty. All they cared about then was religion, so they disregarded any technology that could better themselves. So they were happy with outhouses, never washing their clothes, and leaving kids in dirty diapers for a week.
Bad things religion does:
1) Gets in the way of government and politics;
2) Encourages people to have a dozen kids and forget their parental responsibilities by letting the older ones take care of the younger ones- then they can tell their kids, “Do what I say or God will send you to hell!”
3) Gives the mentally ill an excuse for their actions (God told me to kill so-and-so!)
4) Convinces women that their only place is in the home breeding like rabbits and that God likes them better in dresses
My question is, who knew how God created the world and was there to write about it? One of the reasons I’m a proud agnostic. There is simply too much in religion that makes no sense or contradicts itself.
