“Weenus has always been a character who has grown progressively weary of the realities of the world. If you read back into the archives, you’ll notice he’s the only character who drinks alcohol. He’s also keenly aware of his diminutive size and optical disability, hence his disenfranchisement. I wish I could give you a better answer but the truth is I had a long chat with the fine folks at Universal|Uclick about the overall direction of the strip a few months back and they asked me to develop the characters so that they become more individual.
