Moms- Agree that Candace is an evil backstabbing two-faced t_rd. Even if you don’t agree with your child’s point of view, let the child vent without appearing to judge.
While I appreciate the “joke” is about Janis’ new haircut. It fell flat. Those are the same ears Janis has had since her teenage years. Why would ANY person feel a need to see themselves through the eyes of a spouse or significant other? There is no “perfect” size for ears, nose or any other body part. Unconditional love at home and a class in critical viewing skills at school (pointing out air-brushing and digital manipulation of images) is key to raising a child to be content with their appearance. One generation could end low self-esteem, despite the ads which present images we can’t hope to achieve in real life.
Aww, how sweet. The growing old together part isn’t possible for me and my husband as he is in a nursing home with Huntington’s Disease. Did my best to “let” him lead the family while he was still able.
A mom of grown children, I got a nice card and e-gift certificate! Also going to visit my mom for a meal prepared by my dad with all of us “kids” there.
