You assume that I’m a smoker. I NEVER was a smoker (though I did try to when I was an adolescent way back when). In fact, whenever I come across one who indulges, I will hang back so I don’t have to breathe in the foul fumes. I also don’t drink. Hell, I don’t even imbibe in caffeine.I also consider the gratuitous eating of animals to be a barbaric act. I consider factory farms to be the equivalent of death camps. Plus, there is documented evidence that these monstrous things cause pollution in rivers and the air, causing damage for the rest of us who have nothing to do with fast-food restaurants. If I were King, I would do away with such businesses.However, I am not king. I have to acquiesce to the fact that the majority of humankind gorges on cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits, fish, et al. There are a lot of things that I don’t like about the world that I have to accept.
You don’t legislate anything. A “free country” allows their citizens to, within reason, do whatever they want with their own bodies.Yes, smoking tobacco is something for fools to do; there is a lot of things that human beings do that is stupid. What else is knew?But what about second-hand smoke, you ask… why should the rest of us suffer?Because that’s what comes with the turf of living in a “free society” with three hundred million people in it.
