Lots of people are career-focussed, but people only get all up in arms when women suggest that landing a man and having babies isn’t their top priority. Look at the recent kerfuffle with the new CEO of Yahoo; you can’t tell me that would happen if it was a young male CEO who was expecting his first child.
Her good friend Crystal was making fun of her for having a tiny part in the movie and the fact that she was doing stuff like getting coffee for the stars of the film (all of which Tiffany did enthusiastically, it seems). Seriously, reverse the dialog in today’s strip and it’s more accurate considering that girl who wouldn’t go out with Greg in hs… I mean Tiffany… is supposed to be the villain because we’re told as much.
This is just Evans trying to retcon the fact that Tiffany already did all kinds of grunt work to get her part whereas Luann believes she’s entitled to fame and Juliard because she wants it. It’s sloppy.
I agree, but I’m almost as weirded out by how many people simultaneously comment on these things lecherously while also talking about much they hate the character they’re leering at.
Wow, how dare Tiffany be upset that something she worked very hard on not have her desired outcome, and how double-dare that she take the opportunity to put actual effort into achieving her goals! The nerve! She to take a lesson from Luann and just randomly decide to attend Juliard on a whim despite a lack of talent or experience.
