Correct me if I’m wrong, I think those files from assets.amuniversal.com seems to be exactly the same as here; if you right click on the GoComic strip it will lead to that domain.
Yes, GoComics unfortunately has some automatic image resizing that forces the maximum height to 1800 pixels. If the strip is too much longer than that, it will squeeze all of it down regardless of proportions, making everything blurry.
Indeed, thank you so much! That is probably the closest that could be done by guessing. Here’s also a slightly sharpened and upscaled version of the page, if it can be of help: https://i.imgur.com/ZyT8d5F.png
I have to agree yeah, this platform doesn’t take this format too kindly, unfortunately. Ideally, gocomics should be the one to support it better, but it’s highly they’ll fix it unlikely considering how busy they’ve been suppressing RSS and adblockers…
This is almost surely a separate issue, but sounded like a weird coincidence, so might as well say here – I just spent an hour trying to figure out why GoComics was serving completely blank pages, and it turns out certain extensions like “I Don’t Care About Cookies” broke just now on this website and eat up half of the page.
