A blood drive isn’t a lemonade stand, Luann!
Clearly, you’re not a vampire.

Why is it the same? Don’t really have the time to go spelunking for comments.

I think the Bernice thing was about B overthinking everything and not paying attention to the message, so Luann gave her waffles to quiet her down. I think it’s awesome G&K worked in a good act of kindness almost everybody can do to help others.

I’ve known some nurses. And they are still at it for years. In Califirnia, it was pretty lucrative too depending on experience and type of nursing. One I knew very well was pulling down $160k a year.

As some of you know from my post yesterday, I live in Germany. I have friends who are Ukrainian and live in Tel Aviv and others who are married to Lebanese. My Ukranian friend’s nephew as injured in a rocket attack. My Israeli friend is posting rocket alerts. Sometimes twice a week where they have to gather the kids from wherever they are and find a shelter. I can’t even fathom what it’s like in Palestine, but a massive multiplication of the horror.
As Americans, we have NO CLUE what danger is to life and liberty. Zero. None. Is it our government that makes us so safe? Kinda. But what really helped is the fact of pure dumb luck that we have two huge oceans. The fact we poke our neighbors to the north and south so much is insane. Other than Pearl Harbor and all the wars we have been in, please tell me how many American cities were carpet bombed in WWII, Korea, Nam, Gulf Wars I and II? Or do we get into wars with countries that don’t have similar military resources?
Compared to Europe, which was bombed to oblivion in WWII. Many shelters are still operational if ever needed. If you get a chance, go to Hannover, Germany, and in the tourist center, there is a relief map of the city before WWII and immediately after. The after-map is completely flat. This wasn’t some nuke, where people were mercifully evaporated, but repeated bombings without the gory detail of wives’ and children’s body parts scattered through the streets among the brick and rubble. You can walk into the burned out church. Berlin, still has shrapnel cuts into its walls. Much of Vienna’s classic builds were rebuilt. That’s what many in Europe carry with them, regardless of who they were pulling for. It’s war.
But if you do go to mainland Europe, I feel it’s our responsibility as Americans to go to a Holocost site to see what our fathers and grandfathers fought. What true evil looks like. So many allies died to defeat facisim. But as our last WWII vets die, we have lost sight of this.

I’m an American living in Germany and miss Turkey Day a ton. Enjoy the football games and the food coma!
A couple of years ago, we made Friendsgiving for all of our Austrian friends, and they loved it. Next year, we’ll do it again on the weekend. Having homemade apple, pumpkin pie, and my bacon chard was so much fun to see them eat. I can’t wait to do it again!
14 of the same shirt! That accounts for two weeks of strips or one week with a BBQ!
