The first concert I ever went to was the 3 of them and it wasn’t long after that the plane crash happened.

Get over yourself and leave the political stuff out of the comics section.

Oh yes, those trips in the twin Otters, did a few medivacs in those, only good thing was you didn’t have any passengers watching your every move like you did in the Transair jet, if you were lucky to get one of those on route from Yellowknife to Winnipeg. It was scary once when we were flying in the Otter from Churchill to Tadoule Lake to run a clinic. One engine wouldn’t start, so we deplaned and came back later hoping for a good repair……lots of silent prayers as we were landing on water there and I am not a swimmer….lol. I remember those nights with no sleep in Chesterfield waiting for weather conditions to clear to get a plane in to do the evac. Once a patient in labour flying to Winnipeg and we couldn’t have the plane interior lights on when coming in to land, she was 9cm dilated…..ambulance waiting on the tarmac and baby delivered 8 minutes after we got to the hospital. Oh, well they made good memories and great stories now (which I swear are not even a little bit exaggerated….lol)Thanks for your service both RCAF and ambulance service.Cheers

Hi again, that is disgusting, people like that shouldn’t be in healthcare, it is supposed to be about the care part….arrrggghhhh! We had a great team in Churchill…mid 1960’s, bunch of young adventurous professionals from around the country and an Australian DON. At 30ish I was like an older sister to most of the staff ….great fun, lots of responsibility and job satisfaction as we got to do so much more than we did in the south.

Had a quick trip to Frobisher, was shortlisted for the Director of Nursing position at the hospital, but I didn’t want as a long term commitment at that time as they did. Did 2 stints in Chesterfield relieving the nurse there. It was lonely at times as it was a one nurse station, with occasional fly in doc. I loved the work though, and really enjoyed my time in Churchill. Hard to believe that was nearly 45 years ago.

I live in Niagara region in Ontario, weather looking good for Monday, luckily I can just go out onto the deck, sun will be right overhead at that time. Traffic is expected to be horrendous with up to 1 million visitors to the area that day so won’t do my usual grocery shopping that day, just sit back and enjoy!
