I don’t know why the same strip turns up twice in a row, but April 5, 1955 was a Tuesday and I found it in The Detroit Free Press. The Detroit paper also had the Nancy Sunday strips. We’ll see if they publish April 6 tomorrow. Nancy is worried about her school exams and Sluggo “helps” her out.
Found it! It first appeared November 20, 1950. Took me a while. Last month several of them, the ones about the baby carriage wheels and the cushy $60 a week job that Jeff turned down, were from 1943.
