Kudoes for promoting giving blood. Unfortunately, I cannot. In 2020, I had two valves in my heart replaced with mechanicals. As such, I must take warfarin (i.e. Coumadin), a blood thinner, and have periodic blood tests to check my PT/INR. For me to give blood, I would have to hold my warfarin for 5 days, which would really throw my INR off.

Yes, Bernice has asked the question that all of America is dying to know (okay, bad pun): who is Phil?

I was a nurse for 29 years. Sticking with the profession is one thing; sticking with the same employer is another. I was forced to resign one place where I had been for 12 years because—and you may laugh, or disagree—I wasn’t a Filipino.

I was an LVN in California for 29 years, just recently retired. Yes, Texas uses the same designation; I believe Minnesota and New York do too (or so I’ve heard.) I like to think that my 29 years as a nurse defines me as much as my 14 years as a soldier. No, I was not a nurse in the Army; I was in Military Intelligence.

And he’s a CNA too! Personally, I’d prefer LVN/LPN, but I am one, so I’m biased.

LMAO!!! Ninja Pilgrim! Perfect sight picture! John Belushi—the original SNL Samurai Butcher—dressed as a Pilgrim (more properly called a Separatist) with a katana.
