My grandkids all play sports. Their backpacks are under or near the bench. I often get texts from them. Requests for a drink, snack, handwarmer, Chapstick etc.. This happens on all levels, from youth sports to varsity.
If the NFL ever gives a franchise to Hawaii, that team could be the fastest new franchise to win a Super Bowl. They would be the only franchise to be able to offer to free agents a chance to live in Hawaii. Fit us all under the salary cap, win a Super Bowl and live in Paradise. They ain’t getting that offer in Philadelphia or Chicago.
As I look back on my life, I see the constant change. Changes in technologies. Phones went from dialing 4 digits, to touch tone 7 and/or 10 digits. No answer and busy signal to call waiting, call return, caller ID, wireless to mobile, to text message, pictures, videos and now mobile computers that do thousands of more things than we ever imagined. One constant has been bullying. I was tortured as a kid. Harassed, isolated and disparaged by my ’"peers". If something was said about me in a morning class, it was general knowledge after lunch time. I have seen bullying continue throughout the generations and integrate with technology and all other social changes. Addressing bullying is not being a snowflake. It is vital. There are three classes of victims in bullying. The victim of the bully, the bully, and the rest who either nod or laugh in agreement or turn a blind eye. To dismiss either class is BS, and it is dangerous.
