Oops. The Crimestoppers textbook today is three years out of date. They were the “Militsia” until 2011, when the civilian police in Russia became known as the “Politsia.” This was all part of the government’s goal of shaking itself free of Soviet era labels.
Of course, only the names changed. The “militsia” is now the “politsia”, and KGB is now the FSB (Federal Security Bureau).
This is my first post, and I am looking forward to more. How do I post a photograph in my comments? Anyone?
