It is past time to repeal the long-outdated Second Amendment. We do not need it any longer. We have government-funded well-organized “militias” — The U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, as well as local and state police forces. Why do common citizens need to have access to firearms, particularly military-grade weapons? Especially when some citizens can’t keep them locked away from minors. Particularly when they get used in road-rage shootings and in malls and theaters and in schools. When was the last time you heard of a “good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun”?
Congress has once again been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, with multiple news outlets in recent months touting the current 118th Congress as possibly the least productive in the institution’s history. In 2023, Congress passed only 34 bills into law, the lowest number in decades. And gee, let’s see … which party had a LOT of trouble settling on a House speaker, and still can’t get their act together? Doesn’t help that the red side has a lot of loony loose cannons.
Because of the antiquated Second Amendment, which was written for a very different time and VERY different circumstances. We no longer need civilian militias because we have several well-organized military forces and thousands of police departments.
Does it drive anyone else crazy to hear professional communicators talk like:“Yeah .. no … I mean, like … I have … whacha call it? … a talent for expressing … y’know … ideas and things.”
FYI: Earphones don’t work for dogs — at least neither of mine.My husky’s gonna get a dose of tranquilizer as well as chamomile spray on her Thunder Shirt before she goes to hide under our bed.I’m gonna have a couple locally brewed pilsners while maybe watching some of the city-hosted display.
