When our cat was on the streets before being rescued, the mailman who shared his lunch with him each day nicknamed him Tuna. We renamed him Maxwell, and kept the T for Tuna as his middle initial.
The close captioning on one cable channel I watch regularly sometimes XXXXs out a word or even part of a word if that word/sub-word is problematic. So for example, if a character mentioned Chester Gould’s comic strip detective, the closed captioning would display XXXX Tracy. The word suspicion would have the middle part Xd out due to the embedded ethnic slur.
