   Probably a red back – relative of black widow. They’re also the most common of the venomous spiders. I recall dealing with a few hundred of them around the house in one go… including sticking my head into the ceiling space and being surrounded by them. Yay

   Sound like a huntsman spider. They help keep the insects in check. When the kids were growing up all huntsmen were named George… just to put a friendly face on them. Insect spray doesn’t kill them (sometimes anyway)… just stuns them. When one of the kids picked up a sprayed one from the previous day it came back to life and gave him a quick bite. No damage done though.

   A leg weighs between 7-15 Kg (16-35lb ish). I became aware of this fact when my daughter googled it in hospital while visiting after I had my leg amputated (ATK) Lol.. so I’d have gone for at least 10lb loss!
