    True story. In about 1966 or thereabouts.

    Student submits paper Gets an “F”Parent and child go to see teacher.Teacher says “well isn’t it obvious?”“No.”“Just look. This is plagerism. There are no misspelled words.”

    Students father worked for computer research firm and student had used an early form of text editor with an early form of spell check.

    Student’s grade revised to an “A”

    I like it when the call’s voice is generated by a computer. Someone is probably listening and pressing buttons to generate the correct recorded response. I try to keep the conversation going for as long as possible but know that it is over when it says “would you like to speak to my supervisor?”
