What people don’t realize or don’t want to realize is that the product that is made in China and is poorly made has been ordered that way by the importer to have a bigger profit margin. The Chinese are certainly capable of making quality products but if you want something that will sell for .99C they can make those too. Just look at your Iphone or many of the electronics in your car.
I’m in Canada and remember when we went metric. It was hard at first because everybody would convert to imperial just as a point of reference but slowly we adapted. Having said that, there are many imperial measurements still used such as plywood is still sold in 4′×8′ sheets and screws and nails are still sold as 3" nails or 2’ screws. Temperatures are given in metric and we all know that 28°C is hot …but how hot?
