Napster is like stealing your furniture piece by piece.Mike makes his money by taking the whole house. The only real difference is the social status of the person doing the theft.
At pennies on the dollar. Have you forgotten how Alex reduced creators to tears by offering $1.98 for their life’s work? If you’re a creator, musician or otherwise, that’s theft.
Once again, Mike bought her laptop and their house with proceeds from his company, Vulture, which… checks notes … buys intellectual property for pennies and then resells it at profit. Maybe he’d approve of what Alex did if she sold her downloads on their corporate website. But Mike always has been the biggest hypocrite in the strip.
And now he knows really why she hasn’t wanted to date. She could have let him buy her fancy dinners — but at some point, this would be his reality. Best to know it up front.
This strip likes the trope of a doofus guy rehabilitated by the love of a good woman. Tiff did a lot to turn around Les. If he continues on that trajectory, he could be as good a partner as Brad, eventually.
Anticipation is not the word I’ve used for it
