He probably has a rather elaborate plan. Maybe he takes the house and lets them have one in town. Maybe he gives the country house to the kids and A&J take one in town. Sometimes it takes someone else making decisions to get you going. I came home from class once in college and all my stuff was gone from my apartment. My roommate was really bad about not paying bills and it wasn’t uncommon for us to get an eviction notice. Since I worked for the rental agency and was the one that did the evictions and didn’t remember hauling my stuff to storage, I quickly determined it wasn’t that. Then my next door neighbors came over and said hey, when you coming home. They had moved me while I was in class. He needed a roommate and I needed a more responsible roommate. It was a good decision but one I would not have made for myself.

After seeing everyone standing around sucking on Vape pens it is quite apparent that smoking “cigarettes” really did make you look cool.

Just call the utility company and report the outage. If other houses are out, they will tell you, Streetlights, sometimes, can be a good indicator.

As things go, the longer the time to the event, the greater the chance something will happen and plans will change. I rely heavily on that when agreeing to do things I really do not want to do.

After 20 years in the same condo, we moved into a house. It felt like home to me the very first night and I never looked back. 20 years on a tiny balcony and now I have a screened in patio, a patio and a back yard. I understand people can have a hard time with change. Only one place feels like home to them. Decisions like this cannot be undone. Someone else will own your home and you can’t go back. Now, that’s not to say my situation has been ideal. We bought the house and listed our condo the same week the interest rates went up twice and the local housing market collapsed. It was also a week and a half before my company downsized and I lost my job. I mentioned this before and I’m still, over 6 months later, job hunting. We did get the condo sold a few weeks ago. Far less than we had expected to get. Really can’t blame Arlo for his reluctance/hesitation. “Ah, when to the heart of manWas it ever less than a treasonTo go with the drift of thingsTo yield with a grace to reasonAnd bow and accept the endOf a love or a season?” from Reluctance by Robert Frost

I drove a paper route for a couple of years. Afternoon paper and a Sunday morning paper. Delivered those starting about 1am on a 100 mile route out in the county. So one Saturday night there was a horrible ice storm. Corporate told us, no mailboxes or paper tubes. Too dangerous because of risk of sliding off into a ditch. I double bagged all the papers and, where I could, I put them in mailboxes and paper tubes. Took 13 hours to finish the route. When I got home, my manager called me and said someone had reported to corporate that they didn’t get a paper. I got back in my car, ice storm and all, and drove to their house, knowing full well I had delivered it. They had a HUGE ditch so I had put it in their driveway. When I knocked on their door with their replacement paper, they were all in the living room with their paper spread out, kids reading the comics, husband reading sports and lady had the lifestyle section in her hand. She had lied to corporate because her paper wasn’t in her mailbox. There were harsh penalties imposed by me for this injustice. I won’t go into detail. Life of a paper boy is interesting. You haven’t known surprise unless you have opened a mail box at 3am that someone has locked a cat in the day before or stepped out of the car while leaving a subdivision to take a whizz only to encounter the 6ft rattlesnake you apparently ticked off on your way in.

There are only a couple of decent box wines on the market. I was unemployed for a year and had to drink cheaper wine. There is a french Rose that is fairly good and it comes in a box. There was 1 cabernet in a box that I could tolerate if needed. Im currently a victim of another company downsizing and have essentially given up drinking for a bit. But yes, box wine will keep longer, or so I have been told. A box is the equivalent of 4 bottles or 2 magnums.
