I was never taught cursive, but I can read it. Even the capital ‘Q’ that looks like a ‘2’, and the capital ‘G’ that looks like a ‘J’.
I went to school in England, about 30 years ago. We learned ‘joined-up writing’, which was just print with connecting lines, then we were left to our own devices. I did learn ‘French-style’ writing at secondary school, and let it influence my handwriting for a few years, but these days I mostly use roundhand. I find printing in all caps to be hard, because there is no flow. My ’A’s become ’H’s, and my ’R’s either balloon into ’P’s or wither to ’K’s.
All ‘Peanuts’ characters have better writing than I do, even CB. I am a smudgy menace with a fountain pen. Biros and pencils all the way!
Nice Python reference! Hope you feel better soon. Come back when you’re ready. Meanwhile, I think I’ll follow Michael Warden’s example and revisit the archives.
Thanks for that. To quote from one of the above comics: “THE MEH-GO-ROUND:Hold tight while well-meaning folk suggest ways in which you could make yourself better, if only you’d make an effort!”
This is what I like about Endtown. It’s full of complicated problems, and three-dimensional characters. There’s rarely a simple “good guys/bad guys” answer.
Those who understand trinary, those who don’t, and those who were expecting a binary joke.
