if you go with the why bother argument than alll of these bulbs are identical, only need to calculate purchase cost against usage cost and you can choose. Where I think the CCFL is the worst of them all.
It is more like theorethically it can be fixed, while CCFLs and Incendecencs can only be torn apart into their materials and recycled.
Actually I would bother repairing them if they where easy to open. But they aren’t, so I don’t bother with it. They just make them in a way that makes them unrepairable on purpose.
LED is even harder to recycle than CCFL, but there are way less harmfull materials used, also LEDs tend to last longer and can be repaired if you can crack the suckers open.
Fun Fact, according to german law, even if you say you have read and agreed to the terms of service, it is still considered that you haven’t read them, thus if there is something unsuspected in the terms of service it will be considered neglectable.
So yeah our laws get stupid people covered, doesn’t always save you from thumb clauses trough.
