The last Christmas special we saw (not Pawmark, just Our IX Lives) began on 14 December 2016. That is where we learned about Paisley’s connection to the various characters, the Star of Second Chances (that That Guy Brad wanted to buy for Angora), and the secret of Princess Taggart’s actual father.
Just popping into the Grumbling Room to leave some coffee and pumpkin pie (they were sugar pumpkins not more than a few hours ago) for the denizens to commemorate the “Sleigh Ride” they’re not watching.
Canonically, Bandit met Paisley when they were both locked in an asylum by Dr. Mittens. Although maybe they met as kittens and just didn’t remember each other as grownups. Are retcons a thing in soap operas?
Or, since this is a soap opera, the kittens might have two or even three fathers.I found out that it is a biological possibility, though you’d need paternity tests to be sure, at least in the real world. I learned about it from playing on online interactive text-based games (MUSHes specifically) in the ’90s. There were an inordinate amount of multiple births (the running joke was that people were more surprised when a mother only had one child per pregnancy) because it was more dramatic or somesuch. And, of course, it became a fad to have multiple births by more than one father, even though the world we played in was quasi-medieval, so no genetic tests.
In the flash forward from a few Sundays ago, Pucky is sporting a moustache. Also, the cat who misses Joe and the one who never had a second chance before in the shelter special both had moustaches.
And it would tie in amusingly with the wedding fiasco, where That Guy Brad and Dr. Mittens were armed with spray bottles.
