I’m an older fan, and except for the ghost runner I love the changes. When I was growing up in the 60s games routinely lasted around two hours. Over the last few years baseball has devolved into a home run or strike out snooze fest lasting 3 1/2 hours. We will be seeing the hit and run again, stolen bases, manufacturing runs. The changes will bring back the game we grew up with.
When in a drought legal band have precedence over bullshit rules like that. One of the many reasons I won’t live in a condo or a neighborhood with a HOA. I’d end up in jail.
Since I retired I’ve fallen into this pattern. I’m up for at least an hour, usually closer to two almost every night. I just read or do a puzzle til I’m ready to sleep again. I don’t fight it anymore. I’ve also read about this being very common during the middle ages.
We had a truck we used for snow plowing in winter and scrap hauling in the summer at work. For four straight years we had a robin build a nest on the back tires. That truck sat til the babies were gone.
