This isn’t a Jonas ‘tough love’ moment. The problem here is they’re dealing with a human being at an impressionable stage of life, where security is important to mental health going forward. She has, from what we see, a mostly deadbeat dad, no mother and not a lot of consistency and discipline. Presumably they care about her so it’s a tough decision. Yeah, it’s a comic, but real people go through this type of situation.
My son, a library nerd, memorized his library card number at age 6. He now uses it as a secure password, along with some letters. He will never forget it.
I was watching an Australian movie where the characters called each other “bub.” Its context seemed to be a form of endearment. The internet says it’s used for baby. Does anyone have knowledge of its practical use? I don’t think Petey’s use is endearing. Growing up, I had the idea it was similar to brute or bully, as in ‘watch it bub!’
I have gone through my complete routine, and someone is STILL camped out on the one that I usually do first. Generally, they’re not using it, they’re playing on their phone. With the latter, I stand in front of them and stare.
Does this comic represent an average consumer? It’s unfathomable to me that someone would pay a bill not knowing what it is for.
