I was deciding if I wanted to keep this column. I am retired Navy and am disgusted by the blatant disrespect shown to this great country. So, John and Scott, thanks for giving me a reason to cancel.
I’m from SF and I was near Pier 39 one day in July around noon and it was BONE-CHILLING COLD! That icy wind comes racing in from the Bay and just slaps everybody SILLY! The “tour stores” on the Pier sell really nice, high-quality fleece jackets for ~$10 and they were selling like crazy! The poor tourists were shocked; everybody expects “Ok, it’s Cali…July…we’ll have gorgeous weather” Yeah, but not in SF! One Nov (note: I said NOVEMBER) I was out there; San Diego was freezing, LA was freezing and SF had beautiful weather! That’s what makes it so fun – you never know what you’re going to get there!
And after paying exorbitant prices, I found that in many of my classes, we didn’t even use the books that much – even in Algebra. Exams were based more on the lectures AND even if you could find a book for a lower price, they’d say “Oh, that was for LAST semester!” What – the information changes SOOO much that they require a new book every semester?
I like the paper draped over the top but what’s REALLY frustrating is how they’re making the rolls thicker/fatter so that when the roll is new, it’s so thick there’s no room for it to spin on the roll.
Why is her head drawn so BIG? It’s like 1/2 again larger than Kip’s!
