   It is not well known but the Bard was fleeing a rendezvous which attracted the attention of the maiden’s mother and he caught a spur on the arras heading out the window. This is why he was ridiculed forever after with the name “Shagspur”. Of course he tried to disguise his history by always spelling it differently. You’re welcome.
