It takes some people longer to develop empathy for someone you don’t like. I had a Tiffany in my growing up years. It wasn’t until we both realized that we were more alike than we wanted to admit until we both cut the crap and actually talked to one another. We became good friends.
I’ve seen it happen to girls like her. When everyone tells a girl she’s beautiful and nothing else, then they can fall into a trap. I’ve seen this with handsome boys too. When they find they can no longer get by on their looks, they can crash pretty hard.
Parents who sacrifice their kids to significant others make me ill. It’s downright evil to shove your kid aside like that.
