   True, both major parties have lost their way but there are deliberately no other viable choices presenting themselves. One reason Obama surprisingly won the ‘08 Dem primary and Sanders showed so strongly in ’16 is because Hilary was so arrogant to think she could ride on name recognition alone, laughably since hers is based on a failed marriage, which her husband DID get his butt impeached for; not family political dynasties a la Bush, Roosevelt and Kennedy lines. Still smarting from W, many central and liberal voters wanted someone who at least appeared to be sincere, not just another pandering naysayer with a dog whistle blatantly attached to their lapel. Trump won because he plays the “just let it all hang out, one of the boys, warts and all” kind of candidate. When he lies, he’s winking to the camera the entire time, which is why so many of his hard-core supporters still slurp him up. He’s never disingenuous about being disingenuous – ‘we all have to get our hands dirty sometimes, eh?’ He flatters supporters into thinking they understand the trade-off, thus are willing to put up the firewall.Likewise the reason females across the political spectrum tuned her out: if she can’t keep her man in check or her consolation prize SoS job under Obama, how she gonna run a country??? How is she gonna think her gender was a definite win from half the voting populace or even half that Dem block, akin to Obama taking the black vote for granted? It wasn’t even if she was the first strong one to run (she wasn’t), but just that she’s a joke representative of someone that would have that historical gender distinction. She got many Dems’ vote in spite of being the candidate, similar to GOP voters with Trump. And as stated over-and-over again, many just didn’t show up to vote at all, which is fine with the powers-that-be.

   National Guard troops were typically sent in “emergency” situations such as pronounced upheaval, terrorist acts or rioting inadequately handled or even instigated by state and local law enforcement agents. They were withdrawn once the immediate issues seemed resolved with little chance of returning. Especially in the South where certain citizens could take particular insult to US troops enforcing the Federal laws.
