None running for president, none sitting in the Senate or House, none appearing regularly in mainstream tv. On the other direction, we do not need to go far right to learn about how “how the media, big tech, Democrats, etc seized our great victory in the 2020 elections”.

I’m sorry, I didn’t get it… who in the US far left is as toxic as the regular facers of the mainstream right? Including those on the presidential ticket?

Brilliant – never thought of the connection! Vampires must be invited in, cats want us to keep doors open for them… good luck with the research.

Guns don’t kill people… gun culture does. In other words, the apparently pervasive ideas (at least in the US) that each individual must be armed to their ears to defend their dignity, honor or propriety, or to defend family and shared values, that they should be prepared to shoot their way out of (or into) any problem. This is the issue to address – stop the wild frontier mentality that it is every gun-holding individual for themself and their kids in school will not make the association: “I have a problem, therefore I need to shoot someone”.And yes, obviously, restricting access to guns (type and form of buying) is a necessary step in this change of mentality.

It is not ok to be disrespectful, I agree.

And that should work in both directions. It is not ok to use “atheist” as an insult or a certificate of moral inadequacy, for instance.

It thus must be ok for an atheist to tell a religious person: “I think you should give up religion for W and X reasons”. Because believers of proselyte religions do find it reasonable to tell me that I should convert for their Y and Z reasons.

Could be, but it IS written in the books…BibleMatthew 28:19: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”Matthew 28:20: “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”Quran(16:125) (O Prophet), call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and reason with them in the best manner possible. Surely your Lord knows best who has strayed away from His path, and He also knows well those who are guided to the Right Way.

Yep, I agree – I would say they must, indeed. Two of the “Book’s religions” are inherently proselyte.

I don’t know… there was no joke in the first place so it could not be killed. It is more of a unfortunate case of a joke born cold dead. Bottom line, we have to improve our general culture before reading the comics…

For once I fully agree with Al Goodwin. Addiction to tech is a real problem. Children, adolescents lose their grip on reality. Kids with tendency for mental health problems are easy prey and their problems escalate. Big tech acts like the drug dealers of the past, except this is now in our living rooms under the cover of providing tech competences for a future digital generation.

Nobody wants open borders, immigration is regulated everywhere; every nation MUST phase out oil production; lenient bail for the 6th January criminals is a republican thing – for others courts decide; people can identify with whatever they want, so what?
