There were no nationwide channels back in the day. Only 3 networks that fed programming to individual TV stations for part of the day … usually a few hours during the day and primetime at night. The rest of the programming was generated locally.
Great. Now go.comics.com is so crammed with ads they only show half a frame and you have to click another button to clear enough space to display the whole strip.
