I lived in San Antonio from 1985 to 1998, the George Gervin to David Robinson eras. Then SA was the 9th or 10th largest city, but only the 38th standard metropolitan area. No ’burbs. It is a small market town. When they built the Alamodome they only put in 36 boxes (executive suites?). No big industrial base.
