Well, the new CUV’s – crossover SUV’s – are pretty much like the old station wagons, just better-looking.

Really sad. I have had purebreds and mutts (all rescues) and I have concluded that ALL dogs are wonderful. Sometimes the homely ones are the best pets. My cat, Willie, was the runt of an orphaned litter I rescued and bottle-raised, and although he is kinda homely and still “runty” looking, he is the sweetest little cat, and I am grateful every day that he made it and is still here with me nearly 10 years later.

My large black dog Bella sits up front, in the passenger seat, when we go places together. I have often thought about putting sunglasses and a hat on her, as she sits up and looks straight ahead as we go down the road.

Around here I call cardboard boxes “magic cat boxes” because they magically end up with a cat in each one.

Marge, so sorry to hear about your friend Pam’s untimely death. I had read she had a stroke and was in the ICU and was hoping she would recover. Although I don’t know you, I understand the heartbreak when someone you love dies. Sending you prayers.

Very sorry about the untimely death of your co-worker, laughingkitty. When someone is ill for a long time you are kind of able to get used to the idea that they will be leaving our world, but with a sudden death – especially of someone so young – it’s really much more difficult, I think.

Prayers for both of you! In cases like these (and I have been there) meltdowns are OK.

Someone once asked me how I could live alone, and I laughed, telling her that with all my cats and dogs, I am NEVER alone. And that includes the bathroom.
