   If you do have a job you enjoy, you have won history’s lottery. Very few people throughout time have enjoyed the occupation that was thrust upon them. There will still be days/ weeks/ years where it is still just WORK. For men especially, if they do enjoy their job, they will stay there too many hours like rats completing the maze and getting all the cheese instead of going home to what really matters.

   YES! A thousand times, YES! Your job / career is NOT your LIFE! Your job only PAYS FOR your life! It is hard, especially for men, to realize this. LIFE is what happens AFTER you check out for the day, and you go to experience the things that really important – your family, your volunteer work, your hobbies, your recreation. These are the things where you are really needed, your job will replace you shortly once you’re gone, or if they don’t, you weren’t really that vital there to begin with.For thousands of years, no one got to choose their occupation. But now we do, and we somehow get deluded into thinking that is our purpose / mission. That leads to a very unhappy life, because even if you trained for your dream job, there will be days / years when it is just WORK. If you hate your job, join millions of others in history, wipe your tears on your paycheck, and go home and start living.

   A teacher I know has had students involved in questionable activities in the past. He always told them that if HE knows they have troubles with the law, they are stupid criminals, because they broadcast their activities to relative strangers, and will spend most of their criminal career behind bars. And if they learn to keep their yaps shut about their crimes, they could end up in Congress. . . .
