Happy Sunday, and thank you for your prayers and good wishes for my best little pal Lucky!! We got the best news on Saturday – we get to drive to UT Knoxville and pick him up on Tuesday!!! He was such a good boy, that he immediately went back to eating, drinking, and using the litterbox regularly so that the post-procedure radiation dropped rapidly enough for an early release! He’ll get one last Geiger check Monday evening, and we’ll be there midday Tuesday to bring Lucky home! I’m sure the Orb magic had a lot to do with that!
Hi Orbsters, I’ve been away this week. On Monday we took my best little fur baby buddy, our black cat Lucky, to UT Knoxville’s vet center so he could receive a radiated iodine treatment for his hyperthyroidism. A 3 hour drive, but they are one of the leaders in this treatment, the only 100% cure currently for hyperthyroidism. He was on the waiting list at several centers, and UT had a last minute opening so we jumped on it. He had the treatment Wednesday, and has been doing well in isolated recovery (due to the radiation). I’ve never been apart from him since he chose me as his Cat Dad 12 years ago, so having to be apart for several weeks is difficult…. but I know it’s the best thing for Lucky. Hopefully we’ll have him back in time for a truly joyous U.S. Thanksgiving. Please keep Lucky and our family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all!
Cue the fight music from the old Batman TV series! Lupin and OZ leap into the fight like the old Dynamic Duo, Batman and Robin! Kick! Punch! Bite! SHOVE!
And the Cool Cricket Guy completes the scene with a romantic serenade, a romantic happy ending for all! Best of all, Sophie and Gutter saved each other.
Prayers for a perfect procedure and quick recovery for your husband.
