Excellent observation at the end – thanks for making that point. I’ve been a vegetarian for many years, but my carnivorous pets remain carnivorous! Going veggie was my choice, but I’m reasonably certain that wouldn’t be the case if I was a cat.
Apparently, as of yesterday, the law is quite clear on this one: “innocent until proven guilty” is of the utmost importance with regards to high-ranking judges accused of assault by multiple parties, but when it comes to everyday citizens boarding an airplane? Not so much! The same goes for black people who drive cars, make phone calls in their backyard, leave the door to their apartment unlocked, or just generally exist in the presence of a police officer. I guess Dr. Pastis should’ve taken that law degree all the way to the bench… that way, he could probably board without a hitch!
The Right cares about you… until you’re born! After that, you’re a burden to “the system,” and once you’re old enough to form opinions of your own? Forget about it! They oppose abortion and access to birth control, but they also oppose social programs designed to aid struggling parents and underprivileged children. I have yet to meet anybody who can explain how these conjunctively oxymoronic stances are supposed to pan out to a system that works. Give the forcibly-born to the State? Oh, wait… they also claim to oppose federal overreach and big government! I remain confused as ever.
Try getting away with this stuff in the funny pages these days!
