I’ve noticed that the Mr. Pibb logo at least used to use lower case "b"s that looked exactly like German ess-zets, which are pronounced somewhat like our letter “s”. The results are unfortunate.
The faint shadows in panel four correspond in location and outline with those in panel three – i.e. they are our team of five being enveloped in the glare…
Portland is mentioned in the strip but not shown on the World Tour list. Having enjoyed Pearls for decades and lived in Santa Rosa for years but now am in the Northwest, I’d be delighted to attend a Portland visit!
Fourth panel – notice the CYMK color print process devolving with the colors (CYM – Cyan, Yellow and Magenta) going up the light beam like the souls in the interspace months ago, leaving the K (black and white) image behind. Only no Yellow though – but then again, the old color technology mentioned recently didn’t have that either! Bravo, Aaron – your comprehensive knowledge and attention to detail is fantastic!
