It’s funny that tons of people are all over Tara in the comments for being a mild maverick but largely give Bernice a pass as a supposed better influence.
Bernice likes to flex the power that comes with a psychiatric degree despite only currently having part of the knowledge. Not saying there’s no value to leadership around your age group or that seniority trumps it, but she forgets that she’s Luann’s friend and peer when she gets like this.
A student has a lot of delusion and nerve to cloak their pushy, partially-informed advice as “counseling.”
IMO, Bernice asserting herself as a beacon of guidance could pose WAY more of an issue to Luann than Tara being a slack. Luann understands Tara’s shortcomings and can be around her and watch out for them. But it’s harder to pinpoint when Bernice is being insightful, and when she’s playing therapist. There’s more potential damage there than simply flunking a test.
oh my god, TALKING to the third wheel!? Did a non-bitter person with actual communication skills leave a comment on Luann?!
In a sea of people grumbling about how she needs to move out and how she committed the atrocious crime of sitting down next to her parents while a movie was on, I have finally found a sane person that doesn’t suggest turning current living conditions on their head over minor annoyances that could be addressed with a simple discussion.
Bless you, may your sanity be recognized and respected
Holy crap, the comments on here are insane. A lot of bitterness about how someone who should be focusing on an education and is currently learning their place in society needs to take on extra work because… What, she accidentally interrupted an impulsive romantic night between her parents and didn’t catch a hint???
She helps with her family business, is mentoring someone independently through her fuse connections, and is also assisting in an education program.
“Just go ask successful people how they’re successful!!” “She could just pick up a third job. I did it with two kids!” Oof, and the ugliest comment: “How bad does she want to go to school?”
Y’all reek of bitterness for youth. You faced ultimatums, and now instead of being stronger people for it, you hiss at those on their journey who have it easier and make snide remarks.
Just be cool with the fact that not everybody gets the butt of life’s gun smashed into their face! Be okay with the fact that some families are cool with guiding their kids a little further into young adulthood to ensure a safe future!
Don’t take the fact that your parents got a little too excited for financial liberation and shook you off the moment you hit 18 and inflict it on this poor newspaper comic character. Good lord!
