Lyle’s algorithm works provided the start and end points are both on the outside of the maze. If either the start or the end point is INSIDE the maze and there is a path that encircles either one then the robot will have to do some remembering or marking of where it has already been to get to the end.
The one with Daffy was “Duck Amuck;” Bugs’s was “Rabbit Rampage.” Wikipedia says the same basic setup was used a few times in a couple of the later “Looney Tunes” TV series.
