I remember in the early 80’s when I was younger my Dad would cut the seat belts out of the front of our old buick because they were “uncomfotable” as he and Mom said. Now none of us will move the car unless everyone has their seatbelt on, my sister even wore the shoulder belt in the backseat because it made her feel safer.

That is so true. Even though I hate winter and getting cold I do miss when I was able to go outside and have a snowball fight with family and friends. Or any season for that matter, just being outside was nice. Now with my health problems and disabilities I hardly go anywhere and mostly stay inside. I will occasionally in nice weather open the door and sit there and watch the world go by, especially the first nice day in the spring.

That took a lot of guts for the cashier to do that. I worked as a cashier at Walmart for 5 years many years ago and I don’t think i would have been that calm and gutsy.

That is what my Dad’s brother wore and when we went up to NY, from PA, to visit family I hated when he wore it because the smell was awful in my opinion plus it gave me a headache like most colognes and perfumes do. Dad always wore Old Spice and Hai Karate, the old spice was ok but the Hai Karate also gave me a headache, he doesn’t wear any kind of cologne now for some reason. My ex husband wore and still wears Stetson cologne and that is my all time favorite.

Also, gotta love Grandma for wearing the coat just to make Agnes happy and give her a smile even though Grandma is getting chaffing from it and probably thinks it is the most ugliest thing in the world but it makes her happy because Agnes is happy, which with the life that Agnes has it such a loving thing for Grandma to do for her. I remember many times when me and my sister brought home stuff from school we made for Mom and Dad they were the ugliest things but the cherished them like they were treasures. I have two beautiful memories of horrible things we gave that Mom cherished. First, before my family became Jehovah’s Witnesses and stopped celebrating holidays me and my sister would always buy from school a pot of mum’s for my mother for Mother’s Day and she always told us they were beautiful and she loved them, then when we were both in our 30’s she admitted to us that she hated mums but told us she loved them and cherished them because we got them for her out of our heart. The second one, this involves Mom’s dad also, when we were in 8th grade in metal/wood shop we both made metal picture frames and wooden squares that we glued our school picture on and put shelack over it and gave them to our grandfather as gifts and even though we knew they were ugly Grandpa displayed them on top of his big floor model tv and when he died Mom took them and put them on her book case with other school pictures and I’m sure she still has them.

Thanks. I have saved and/or printed every email we have had since he walked out and had to use some of them during the divorce court proceedings because he was lying about some of the assets and didn’t want to give me a cash settlement for them. The judge wasn’t happy with him about that and told him so during hearing also his lawyer kept objecting to my lawyers questions on it and kept saying “asked and answered” and judge said “asked but didn’t answer and he better answer or he will be in contempt” and he finally answered and said what he did with assets, he used it for his down payment on his house and thought I wouldn’t find out and he did have to pay it to me as a cash settlement for my share.

Thank you for your kind words but as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses I don’t celebrate the holidays.
