With the naming of tail lashing young meimei explained, let me tell you, I used to know a kitty called xiao pigu 小 屁 股 because her 屁 股 was tiny when we found her stuck under a cupboard, poor thing.
OT Today is the first day of MId-Autum-Festival, when family and friends meet over a meal to watch the full moon. Will our racoon friend bring Sophie a moon cake to share under the shininng orb? Or might the two of them at their separate homes look at the moon their hearts brimming with affection for their absent soul-mate?
Did the autocorrect destroy you “Camellia”. Because that is was the tea plant is , a member of the Camellia family; too little water in the picture for tea plants, methinks.
… your comment made me reach for the dictionary. Also, good to see that curiosity did not kill the cat. However, what did the poor kitty on the right get into, a dog fight? I see a heavily bandaged tail and an intraveous drip.
I write this with great sadness. I have been a follower of our reporteers ever since Elvis, Pucky and Lupin started reporting on “the news that matter to cats.” I also admired Georgia’s creativity and pluck when she decided to make the comic her career. The recent arc isso disneyesque, full of forced optimism, devoid of realism. Shelters the world over – and I work with one – know that if you give a difficult animal to an inexperienced person whose needs, for order, cleanliness etc. are diametrically opposed to the animal’s needs, you will get is stress on both sides. Worse still the animal brought back to the shelter because of incompatibility. TW will not just get a splash of colour in her living room but also splashes of something else. And making a parrot wear diapers for human convenience is downright cruelty. I remember with nostaligia Georgia’a sweet report on shelter cats of 2015. Every cat found a lovely home with a new “owner” that suited them. The old guy being homed with an elderly genleman and the two of them affectionately sitting together still brings tears to my eyes. If Minou was still alive she would jump into her flying box post haste to file a complaint with the international court for animal rights.
Hello dear cat friends, special greetings to the antipodes. You all are aware of the Kea, New Zealand’s least favourite parrot, known for its intelligence, curiousity and yes, destructiveness. Parrots are high maintenance pets and can be highly destructive when bored. They make a lot of mess when fed and require lots of attention. Keeping them in a cage or tied to a perch is not good enough, it is animal cruelty and some parrots react to this mental stress by plucking out their feathers. So let us remember, this is fiction, a forced denouement to bring about a happy ending and no real parrot shoud ever be exposed to a future with someone lik Mrs. T.
Admiral Crackers, a therapy bird for Mrs. Tidy, to get rid of all her hang ups about tidyness and a quiet life. The attention parrots need when kept in isolation, i. e. without parrot company, the noise they make plus their untidy eating habbits should make him Mrs. Tidy’s ideal companion. Though, in all probability the poor thing is going to outlive her. Rumour has it that parrots are quite particular in their choice of partner. The Admiral seems quite taken by Mrs. Tidy, Mr Tidy, beware!
Minou was a tricolour beauty with Turkish roots, partially blind beause of kittenhood neglect, great bird hunter all the same, I am sorry to say. She and her companion Henry, they met at the shelter at a young age, had a bit of a Tommy and Sophie relationship.
My apologies, I should have written, ‘commentators on this site excluded.’ I have cats and a job that involves business trips. As family was no longer able to look after the cats during my absences, I joined a ‘mutual cat care assistance group.’ It meant going to people’s homes and feeding, stroking and playing with their cats plus litter tray duties. I wrote from that experience.
