I had looked up “silvacide” before posting; I couldn’t find it in dictionary websites. When I tried entering it in Google, seeking a wider search, that couldn’t find it either; all I got was, “Did you mean: silvicide”. I am left with the conclusion that “silvacide” is a misspelling.
This reminds me of something I read, quoting a US official, in the days when the US was in Afghanistan, trying to build a government: “You can’t buy an Afghan. You can only rent him for a limited time.”
