I have an idea. For every lunatic (or otherwise) representative elected, select a really smart group of, say, 10-15 kids from the same area (maybe hide their identity for their safety). Then, the representatives have to explain their actions and their expected results to these kids and convince them via Zoom. Results will be published online. The more those ideas get rejected, the more voters will know there’s something going in the wrong direction.
Most of their bio-mass gets eaten by a certain primate. But then again, being farmed as a favorite food item could be viewed as some sort of evolutionary success, I guess.
This isn’t about justice or upholding the law. It’s about letting the Trumpists cannibalize the GOP or not That is, ‘moderate’ Republicans’ fear of being kicked out by the populists… this will happen eventually, bc nothing fundamentally will change in terms of living standards, equality, etc. – at least in the short term. So, yes, if and when Trump returns ‘in some form’, they want to cling to whatever power there’ll be left for them and keep the cash flow rolling… Let Rome burn, if that’s what it takes. The US needs radical reforms, beyond Sanders or AOC. So, dunno, maybe divert resources and focus away from the Obama-era disasters of foreign policy towards worker-class issues? Just a thought.
That’s not how being ‘the good guys’ and modern society work. You don’t discriminate, you don’t kill, you don’t do eye-for-an-eye, no matter what – or at least, you don’t say that sort of stuff out loud. In the long run, it’s a question of what sort of society you wanna live in, not raw, quick justice. Leave that to the people you’re criticizing.
