I can’t start my day without Big Nate! Thanks, Mr. Peirce!

Interesting how there are no pictures in any of the picture frames. A metaphor for the marriage, perhaps?

How Israel uses the weapons isn’t Biden’s direct fault, but continuing to give them billions of dollars’ worth of weapons to do it, month after month, is Biden’s and Congress’s fault. Watching day after day as children are killed or their limbs are blown off, with no pain medicines, hospitals blown up, the few doctors left being arrested while doing their work — anyone who can stop that has an obligation to at least not support it with our money and our weapons.

Rep. Jamie Raskin? I’d love it, except that so far he refuses to support a ceasefire.

Maybe because if the whole hospital is bombed, no foreign journalist (assume any are still living) will be able to confirm there were no Hamas facilities underneath it?

Yes, isn’t it amazing how they took Israel “almost totally by surprise”?

Apologies that this is neither snarky nor funny, but The Washington Post had a profile of Johnson on the 29th that seemed pretty thoughtful to me, especially considering the Post’s heavy Dem/liberal leaning. What I found most interesting was the picture of his community — not radical, drawn to Johnson’s civility and ability to form a consensus with people who disagree with him. A community of faith, across the board, but respectful of each others’ opinions and faiths. I’m a liberal who questions everything because I don’t think any of us knows the absolute truth about anything, and I found some hope in the fact this town seems to have many like that, possibly including Johnson. (That would be my great hope, but he’s a politician, so probably not.)

So glad Ted called attention to this. And glad he didn’t name names, since he’d probably get cancelled. We’re approaching the stage where it’s “agreed” that there is “wrong” censorship and “right” censorship, and to call it out is impolite.
