Some of the smartest men in history: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Paine, many others of our founding fathers were deists or Christians. They may have or did reject the godhood of Jesus, but they believed in God. While it seems now impossible that a single Entity created the whole universe, or even the galaxy, that Earth had a Creator seems more likely than before. No matter how many planets our science inspects, Earth seems unique.

Prisons should be reserved for violent offenders only. All else should be community service, fines, and flogging. Especially flogging. Despite the Supreme Court’s unenlightened reasoning, if everyone was punished with flogging, it would not be “unusual.” And is flogging more cruel than putting a person in prison where he/she is subject to physical and sexual abuse by guards and other inmates, with no means of defense? Plus an extension of sentence on the whim of the warden?

I’ve read that dogs can’t digest chocolate and it just sits in their GI tract. If they keep getting it, it accumulates until it blocks something. As for turkey: the bones aren’t good for dogs because they will splinter, get swallowed, and pierce the stomach or intestines. However, pull the meat off the bones and turkey is is fine. The fat dwon’t hurt them if it’s just a snack or two.

“Well, you know, Man o’ War, after they retired him from racing, they put him out to stud. And he had an average of about a hundred and twenty, a hundred and thirty foals a year, and he lived to be thirty-six. And then when he died, they did an autopsy, and they found out that he was a raving queen.” Trapper John in M*A*S*H

One time I took my wife to the doctor. She could barely walk, her pain level was about a 9.5. The nurse asked her how she was feeling, and she replied, in a voice dripping with agony, “Fine.” I immediately spoke up: “You are not fine! You’re in agony and you’re just hoping for some relief.”
