I am a cranky old Liberal who lives in the Gold Buckle of the Bible Belt, SW Ohio. A Native Buckeye, I am disgusted by how my state's residents have turned out - bigoted, ill-educated and mostly right-wing nut jobs.

As usual, Mr. Goodwyn, you have your facts wrong. Mr. Clooney did not grow up in Hollywood. He grew up in Augusta, KY, about 20 miles upstream on the Ohio River from Cincinnati, OH. He (briefly) attended Northern Kentucky University. His father, Nick, brother to Rosemary, was a long-time radio personality and news anchor/director in Cincinnati. George Clooney is about as all-American as they come – that’s why he’s a Democrat!

And anti-America Republicans want it to be an authoritarian Christian Nationalist dictatorship.

Nah. Just jail the Orange Menace and remain in office, doing real work.

Oh, but there are plenty of US-born-and-bred “journalists” who will do the same. Look at the New York Times and their hands-off treatment of The Orange Menace and his cronies.

If the Republicans allow us to. Chances are they’ll have their armed bully-boys surrounding every polling place in a Democratic precinct and will threaten anyone who doesn’t vote for The Orange Menace.

ATT does not own Spectrum. Spectrum’s largest stockholders, according to Wikipedia, are Liberty Media (27.3%; Liberty owns Sirius/XM Radio and Formula 1 racing among other interests.) and Advance Publications (13%; Advance is owned by the Newhouse family and also owns Conde Nast Publications and newspapers in Alabama, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon and Pennsylvania, among other interests.). Charter’s only relationship to ATT is that it bought systems from ATT that had 1.3 million subscribers in 2000.

Minor point: one does not salute with one’s left hand – always the right!
