A punny tribute to the late, great Jay Ward, who was the master of cartoon puns. As a wee lad, I would watch the Rocky & Bullwinkle show, laughing until I cried at the punniness of the various episodes. My favorite Ward ‘toon was Peabody’s Improbable History, wherein the characters were always involved in some improbable shaggy dog story which would invariably end up in a mic drop final pun. My parents would come into the living room to see what I was laughing so hysterically about, shake their heads and one of them would comment to the other “There’s something strange about that boy.” It only made it worse when I would try to explain the plot line and the joke to them. Lots of eye-rolling and “Well, he’s your son, dear” comments. Fun times!
Perhaps Vampire Weekend put the grammatical brouhaha regarding ye olde Oxford Comma in the most succinct terms ever. (available for viewing on an encyclopedic streaming service near you)
“Kick it.” Isn’t that a line from a Devo song?
